iPad Tips and Tricks: 10 more essential tips and tricks for your iPad

I’m sure you’ve already been playing constantly with your new iPad since you got it. Here on iPad.net we have already given you 10 essential tips and tricks to get more from your iPad… There are loads of more great things you can do to personalize your tablet, so here is our second list of 10 more tips and tricks… http://tiny.cc/ipad-10tips

1.    Use your iPad as an HD video player on your TV
It’s easy to hook up your iPad to your HD TV. You will need a couple of bits of extra kit: the Apple iPad dock to VGA connector. You then connect this to the VGA port on your TV and the 30 pin port on the iPad. So now you can watch streaming video in HD directly from your iPad onto your TV. Great.

2.    Set your own sound levels

Go to ‘Settings’ then ‘iPad’ then ‘EQ’ to choose the style of the music you usually listen to. This will set the EQ levels automatically to make the audio output more palatable.
3.    Changing your email signature
Go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’. Go to the text box and change the default to anything you wish. Much better than the cheesy, “sent from my iPad”.

4.    Use your iPad as a picture frame

This is really easy. To shuffle your photos in slideshow mode: Go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Picture Frame’. Switch the ‘Shuffle’ button to the ‘on’ position and you’re all set.

5.    Download podcasts

With a couple of adjustments you can download podcasts directly to your iPad. Find the podcasts you want from iTunes then choose ‘Free’. For some reason, you need to set this up by using your PC or Mac to sync with your iPad. Is that an oversight by Apple?

6.    Take an iPad screenshot

This is really easy. Press ‘Home’ and then the ‘Power’ button. Your iPad will automatically save your image in your photo lirary. From there you can edit and send like any other image.

7.    Overheat

So far there have been no reports of the iPad actually overheating. Having said that, it can get really warm if it’s sat on your lap. Rest it on a magazine or a tray to keep your legs from scorching.

8.    Smudge Alert

If you’re not using a screen protector, you’ll need an antistatic cloth to get rid of the inevitable smudges you’re going to get on your shiny new screen.

9.    Speed up your Facebook

Facebook upload is a bit slow on iPad. To speed up a reload, just give your iPad a shake.

10.     Charging

Recharging using the USB can be painfully slow or nonexistent. Best to recharge overnight using the wall socket.
